I am Mismimi a textile brand based in South African and Ghana. Mismimi was created out of longing for material and creating with feeling and storytelling‭, Mismimi has no right or wrong‭, ‬yes or no‭. Mismimi became a brand because her love for shopping  African products which turned into an idea, a solution‭, ‬and adventure‭. The African stories, feelings and people which‭ ‬turns into beautiful colours‭, ‬shapes and lines‭. And all these are transformed into textile based instillation and digital printed Ankara fabrics and scarves‭.‬‭ The fabrics and scarves allow the combination of the world, graphics and materials, these three dimensional work comes together‭.  ‬they exist on the spectrum of practical and non practical‭, creating a dialogue between designer and consumer‭. ‬the silk fabric becomes a raw material, transformed by the individual wearing it, hiding, showing, combining, creating new endless mixtures of pattern the designer could not foreseen. the installations are a way to tell a story and convey a feeling through material. they surround the spectator and for a moment they constitute as his world.
